Preparation

Take ready breadcrumbs, or make them yourself by grinding in a blender ordinary breadcrumbs into crumbs.

Crack an egg into a bowl and beat it. Add the spices to taste. Cut a slice of cheese on the short side into pieces about 0.5 cm thick, then cut them in half lengthwise. Dip each resulting slice of cheese in the egg, then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat the process one more time. The main task is to achieve a dense coating of breadcrumbs on the cheese. Otherwise, when frying, the cheese may leak.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Do not overheat the frying pan, otherwise the breading will burn instantly. On a medium heat, fry the pieces of cheese on both sides.

Serve this dish hot to the table. It can be accompanied by thick dipping sauces (e.g., garlic aioli) or tomato sauce.
